Meeting was called to order at 10:00 am by President Ralf Soderberg.

Treasurer’s Report:   Kelly Dunn reported the club has $2,018.61 in the treasury.

Gregg Smith will demonstrate segmented work


  • The Hawaii Forest Industries video is on line at Hawaii Forest Industries. Com.
  • Kelly Dunn received an award for “Spirt of the Show”

Show and Tell:

  • Gregg Smith and Linda Peterson showed a segmented bowl with acrylic paint embellishment’s
  • Jack Mise displayed his segmented bowl with Pewa’s
  • Ken Obenski showed his Germen ring toy, Teflon assemble mat, and shop made roto zip Pewa jig
  • Jim Sk? Explained the use of his table saw segmented cutting jig available at Miterset.com
  • Gregg Smith showed and described the technique for putting multiple lines on a segmented bowl or vessel.
  • Kelly Dunn showed his Olivewood and Keawe vessel
  • Steve ? displayed his nested band saw box.
  • Marvin Graham talked about the New Zealand symposium he attended.

Challenge :  Butterfly’s , Patches, Pewa’s, and Embellishments

  • Intermediate: Robert Woodard

Critique of Challenge turnings by Kelly Dunn:   Kelly Dunn critiqued the two entries and gave them both “attaboys”.

 Club Demo: Jack Mise wowed us with his vast assortment of wood carving motors, accessories and recommendations for best results.

Jim Keenan explained his technique for polishing wood in lieu of sanding using over the counter supplies and scuffing pads. Meguiar’s auto polish {med. Cut cleaner} and Howards restore a shine.
